Frequently Asked Questions:

  • How Much is the rent?

    Our rent rates vary based on availability, length of lease and the size of the unit.  Please contact us for pricing and availability.

  • What leasing options do you offer?  

    We offer various lease terms to meet almost any need.  The majority are normally between 6 month and 1 year but shorter leases are definitely welcomed. 

  • How do I apply for an apartment rental?  

    To apply, please fill out our application form and mail, e-mail or fax back to
    our office for consideration.  There is no application fee required.
    Please complete the application in its entirety.  Each person intending to reside in the apartment must fill out an application each.  Persons applying to guarantee rent must also complete an application and note that they are acting as guarantor.

  • What does it take to qualify for a unit?   

    To qualify, we look for a monthly income equal to three times the rent or financial
    documents with a balance equal to or higher then the rent required for the entire lease.  We also review rental and employment history for the past three years. 

  • Do you require a security deposit prior to check in?

    Yes, a security deposit equivalent to one month's rent is required prior to, or at the time of check in.  

  • What are your office hours?     

    Our management office is open Monday through Friday, 9 am to 3 pm, Hawaii Standard Time.  We are closed on Saturdays & Sundays and Federal holidays.

  • Is your building pet friendly? 

    Sorry,  pets are not allowed in our apartments or buildings.  This includes but is not limited to dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, etc.  Only exception are seeing eye dogs.

  • Are children allowed or are there any occupancy restrictions? 

    Depending on the type of apartment, we do have a maximum occupancy limit of between two and four persons per unit, due to their size.  There are no age restrictions. 

  • What forms of payment do you accept?  

    During the initial move in, we accept cash, cashier's checks or money orders only. 
    Subsequent rental payments may be made by personal check if it is drawn on a
    local Hawaii bank.  We DO NOT accept credit cards, PayPal, ACH,
    allotments or direct deposit at this time. 
    Post dated checks are also not permitted and will be cashed upon receipt.

  • Is parking available?  

    Parking is not included in the rent but is available for an additional fee.  Parking availability varies throughout the year and there is no implied guarantee of parking with your apartment rental.  Please ask about parking availability when you apply. 

  • Is your building secure?  

    Access to the apartment floors is secured by an electronic access system allowing
    access only to those issued a proximity key fob.  Our buildings are well lit at night
    and the whole property may be monitored by security cameras and recording devices.   We use electronic keycards for unit access similar to those in use at hotels to make sure there are no "ghost" keys out there.  Each lock is reprogrammed after a tenant moves out.

  • What about utilities?  

    Utilities are not included with rent.  Water and sewer are part of monthly rental, but residents must sign up for electric, gas, cable and telephone service on their own.  It normally takes at least one business day for utilities to be turned on by the respective utility providers.

  • I like my Internet, can I get connected?  

    Residents are responsible for signing up for their own internet access.  A variety of providers are available.  Oceanic Cable's RoadRunner, Hawaiian Telcom's DSL and a variety of wireless internet service provider are ready to assist in setting up an internet account.

  • Do your units have kitchens?     

    Yes.  The size of the kitchen varies with the type of apartment, but generally all have a sink, cook top, an oven and a refrigerator.

  • Do you have fully furnished apartments available?  

    Currently all apartments available at Cartwright Court Apartments are unfurnished.  We may, depending on certain circumstances accommodate requests that we fully furnished an apartment unit. 

  • What if I want to bring my own furniture?     

    All units are unfurnished, unless otherwise specified or agreed upon.  Residents are able to furnish their apartments as they choose.  Please note that unfortunately, we do not have storage on the property so we cannot provide storage space for residents.

  • Do you provide bedding?     

    No.  We do not provide bedding, glassware, dishware or utensils.  The beds are fitted with a bed cover and are either cleaned or replaced between residents.  We also provide a shower curtain for the bathroom.  We do not have irons or ironing boards in the units.
